  11. Love the dragonfly photos-such a nice variety.

We only have the ruby throated hummingbird here in Michigan, so I was amazed on a trip out west to see the variety they have out there....all kinds of colors. They sure are neat to see.

  17. My hummers are almost all gone now too. I so look forward to their return in the spring. The dragon fly shots are amazing also. I have spiders making webs all over my garden now. Every fall I start seeing them.
Do you use a macro lens for your pictures? It is my next purchase.
    Thanks for stopping by today

  23. Interesting that the males have left already. What? They can't stand the cool fall days as well?

Wonderful pictures! I love the dragonflies almost as much as the bird.

  24. Your female looks all fluffed up, as if she feels the chill arriving soon. I miss them a lot too. I can only capture them through my old grungy double pane patio window with a plastic stormer over it, so they are never clear. I have yet been able to catch a dragon fly on the loose either. Yours are beautiful! Faythe @ GMT

  31. Wonderful shot of the female Ruby throat Eileen! One thing about all the boys being gone is there is much more cooperation at the feeders ;-)

The dragonfly shots are exceptional too! Love that green one.

  32. Was reading Crevecoueur's letters with students and realized for the first time that hummingbirds are unique to the Americas. Now wonder our German friends were so amazed to see them in our yard...
